Glaucoma care
Monitoring eye pressure and the optic nerve
Overview
Glaucoma is a group of diseases damaging the optic nerve. Early stages may have no obvious symptoms.
What happens at the visit?
Assessment includes eye pressure, the optic nerve and visual fields when needed. Pressure alone does not establish the diagnosis.
Care and follow-up
Treatment may involve drops, laser or surgery to reduce further damage risk. Regular monitoring is important.
